The IMV (Fuel Inlet Metering Valve) is a key control component in modern diesel common rail systems. It is typically installed at the inlet side of the high-pressure fuel pump (low-pressure inlet) and is used to precisely meter the fuel flow entering the high-pressure pump, thereby enabling closed-loop regulation of common rail pressure.
As an ECU-controlled electromagnetic proportional valve (PWM-controlled), the IMV accurately adjusts the amount of fuel entering the high-pressure pump at the source, ensuring an efficient, low-consumption, and stable fuel injection management system.
